Others rely on you - but that doesn't mean you always feel okay.
You're juggling care responsibilities, maybe a job too. You're exhausted, emotionally overloaded, and still pushing through.
Therapy is support for you, in the middle of all the giving.
About me
Hi, I'm Leanne Scriven, founder of Puradesa Therapy
I'm a UK BACP therapist who specialises in supporting carers - people who hold a lot for others, often at the cost of themselves. Whether you're caring for a parent, partner, friend or through your work, I offer warm, grounded therapy to help you find balance again.
I'm also an IMI accredited mediator so I understand the stresses on family dynamics that caring for someone can cause and often my work involves ways to navigate through this.
Therapy - it's the place where you don't have to hold it all together.

Things People Often Ask Before Starting Therapy With Me
Do I have to be a formal carer?
Not at all. Many people who come to therapy don’t describe themselves as “formal carers”.
If you feel responsible for someone else’s wellbeing and that responsibility is affecting you, this space is for you.
I work with unpaid carers, paid carers, and people in caring professions who support others every day.
2. What if I’m not sure whether I need therapy?
It’s very common to feel unsure. Many carers come to therapy simply because things have begun to feel overwhelming, or because they rarely have space to talk about their own experience.
The first step is a free 15-minute introductory call. This is simply an opportunity to talk briefly about what’s happening for you and decide whether working together might feel helpful.
3. What happens in the first session?
The first session is about getting to know each other and understanding what has brought you to therapy. We’ll talk about your current situation, the pressures you’re experiencing, and what you hope might feel different.
You don’t need to prepare anything in advance. Sessions move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
4. What are the logistics for starting therapy?
Sessions are 50 minutes long and currently cost £40 per session, a lower rate intended to make therapy more accessible.
Sessions take place online using a secure platform called Whereby, with one simple link to join. Some people prefer weekly sessions, while others find fortnightly sessions or shorter-term support works better. We can talk about what feels right for you as we begin.
5. Is everything I say confidential?
Yes. Therapy sessions are confidential.
As a BACP-registered therapist, I follow strict professional and ethical guidelines around confidentiality. If there are ever limits to confidentiality, these would always be explained clearly.
6. How do I book a session?
You can book a free introductory call directly through my online calendar, or contact me by email or phone first if you prefer. The introductory call is simply a chance to talk briefly about what you’re dealing with and explore whether therapy with me might feel helpful.
Things Can Feel Lighter, One Step At a Time.
Therapy is the place to breathe, reset, reconnect and find balance again.
